2010
Q4 KMI/AMI Alumni Golf
12/11/10
The
4th. Qtr. 2010 KMI/AMI Alumni Golf was held on 12/11 at the Poppy
Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, almost an hour drive to northeast from San
Jose and operated by NCGA, The Northern California Golf Association. There
were many rainy days recently but it was a perfect golfing day without rain
nor strong wind though it was foggy in the morning (cleared in the
afternoon). It was not cold also at the highest temperature of around 65F.
Only 6 members including 2 ladies have enjoyed the day, as K. M. Shim couple
were in Korea and could not join.

At the 1st. hole tee ground (Left to
right) :
D. I. Cho, T. H. Lee,
K. R. Choi, Jane Cho, Mrs. T. H. Lee, W. K. Chang.

D. I. Cho achieved
two Closest to the Pin at #3 (171 yards) and #11 hole (150 yards).
Mrs. T. H. Lee dropped the ball to the Closest to the Pin at #7 hole (124
yards) and the last PAR-3 hole, #16 hole (84 yards) Closest to the pin went
to Jane Cho. K. R. Choi got the Longest Drive Award, as all other players'
balls went to rough, out of fairway.

W. K. Chang was the Medalist of the day
hitting 89, the lowest score among players.
(Unfortunately, he could not repeat 7 over PAR score he made during 2nd
Quarter Tournament.)

Today's Champion was Mrs. T. H.
Lee. Unfortunately, we have not prepared a lady's trophy and she had to take
a man's trophy. There are four quarterly champions now in 2010 : 1Q -D. I.
Cho, 2Q - W. K. Chang, 3Q - K. R. Choi and 4Q - Mrs. T. H. Lee, and we will
have final play-off among these 4 Champions for 2010 Championship when we
play 1Q 2011 tournament, and if Mrs. Lee wins, we will prepare a lady trophy
to present her.
After the play, we had Awards Presentation at the club house and spent about
an hour chatting about today's play. Thereafter, we drove back to San Jose
and had a nice dinner at Four Seasons, a Chinese restaurant in Cupertino,
which was paid by K. R. Choi as the winner of the Longest Drive
unexpectedly, as all other players were kind enough to send balls to rough
at the #14 hole tee, the PAR-5 Longest Drive hole.
After
the dinner, we moved to nearby McDonald Hamburger house and chat for a while
again taking coffees as it was little too early to say good night. There, C.
W. Kim couples joined together driving almost 30 min. from home in response
to W. K. Chang's cell. phone call.
We
were lucky without rain while there were so many rainy days from late
November this year and
every one really enjoyed the day of golfing as well as chatting.
