HM1AJ received a "Letter of Appreciation" from the Minister of Communication, Republic of Korea, on 5/17/65 in recognition of his service to the telecommunication of Korea, at the ITU (International Telecommunication Union - an UN organization) Centenial Ceremony held by the Ministry of Communication, R.O.K.
This was the first Korean Call Book (Address book of all hams) published in May, 1965 (edited by HM1AJ Cho Dong-In.) commemorating 10th. Anniversary of KARL, The Korean Amateur Radio League, Inc.. It contains addresses of all hams in Korea at that time with pictures, and many very useful basic information to operate ham radio stations as shown in the index page. (Information pages are not shown here.) The printing and paper quality were very poor, but it was one of the most valuable book for all Korean hams at that time.
KARL sent 2nd. expedition of HM9A/p to Dokdo Island in Feb., 1962 to demonstrate Dokdo is a Korean territory, while Japan argues it is theirs.
KARL exhibited HM9A/p operation at the 6th. National Science Exhibition in Kyongbok Palace in November 1960, which was the first exhibition of ham radio to Korean public. Many visitors to the Science Exhibition saw the ham radio station operation for the first time and booth were always so much crowded every day.
In August 1960, KARL operated the first portable ham radio station HM9A/p in Cheju Island to commemorate the official start of Korean ham radio. It was the first expedition of ham radio in Korea. 
This is the pictures of 4th. Annual Convention of the Korean Amateur Radio League, Inc. at the KBS Hall on 6/7/59. There were about little more than 100 members at that time and all of them were invited to the meeting every year.
