It was the best season - cherry blossom season - to visit Kyoto and Nara, when they visited there, two oldest capitals of Japan, north of Osaka. Cherry - called Sakura in Japanese - is the national flower of Japan and there are millions(?) of cherry trees around Kyoto and Nara. When they are fully blossomed, they have Cherry Festival and whole city is decorated with cherry flowers. This picture was taken at Maruyama Park in Kyoto.
