These are the
pictures of the trip on the first day (12/9).
Top
: Pacific Coast
Highway 1. - It was cloudy and windy day but the visibility was good.
The wave was relatively high making wonderful ocean scenery.
Center
: Chandelier
Tree at Legget where Highway 1 and Highway 101 meets. It was the first
tunnel tree the visitors have ever seen and they were really amazed at this
giant redwood tree which was a few thousands years old, more than 300 feet
tall and 21 feet of diameter with large enough hole allowing a passenger car
to pass through.
Bottom
: Shrine
Drive-Thru Tree at Myers Flat. As the redwood carries nutrition through the
surface, even though you can see the sky at the center of the tree as shown
at right side picture, it lives without any problem.
